We are pleased to share a significant milestone from our marine conservation programme. Last week, a six-month-old juvenile shark was successfully released into the wild at the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa.
Nurtured in the safety of the resort’s dedicated shark nursery, this juvenile reached the optimal stage of development to return to its natural habitat. The shallow reefs of the Andaman Sea are crucial ecosystems, and introducing healthy apex predators is vital for maintaining marine biodiversity and ecological balance.
This successful release highlights the strength of collaborative environmental efforts. Together with our partners, we remain committed to protecting vulnerable marine species and ensuring the long-term resilience of local coral reefs.
