Young Surfers pay a visit to JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort Shark Nursery

Khao Lak is renowned in Thailand as a surfer’s paradise. Throngs of young and older surfers alike visit the shores of this relaxing tourist beach town to sharpen their skills and take part in multiple surfing competitions that take place throughout the year.

During a recent surfing competition at Memory Beach, a group of young surfers staying at the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa joined in on a Shark Nursery Workshop hosted by the foundation’s Khun Ying. The workshop took the young surfers through a brief presentation, followed by an introduction to the juvenile bamboo sharks preparing to help ReShark the Andaman Sea.

Special thanks to our amazing partners at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa, and the tireless efforts of Khun Ying and the team at the hotel.
