LTC004 Launches in Bangkok

Jan 24, 2024

OFA’s Licence To Clean initiative has expanded its reach and is now actively cleaning the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. This marks a significant step towards addressing plastic pollution in one of Thailand’s major waterways.

Oceans For All Foundation joyfully unveils a groundbreaking addition to its “Licence To Clean” initiative, introducing the eco-friendly catamaran, “LTC004.”

Crafted entirely from 100% recyclable materials, this innovative vessel marks a significant stride in OFA’s commitment to sustainable practices.

With this expansion, our fleet now stands at five boats, with four already making a positive impact in Phuket.

In Phuket, our existing boats tirelessly patrol the shores, collecting approximately 300 liters of floating plastic fragments each week. To grasp the scale of their impact, envision each boat gathering enough plastic to fill 300 one-liter bottles weekly. This relentless effort is paramount in preventing the pollution of our marine environment and safeguarding the marine life we seek to protect.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to WAWA Creations for their exceptional boat design, Mr. Leland Sun, CEO of Pan Asian Mortgage Company Limited: 宏亞按揭證券有限公司 for his generous support, and French Embassy Thailand for showcasing our Licence to Clean boats last year.

The establishment of one of our boats in Bangkok holds immense significance, considering the journey of floating plastic from rivers to the sea.

We deeply appreciate AXA Insurance Thailand for being our main sponsor and steadfast supporter in Bangkok.

A special thank you goes to our gracious host, Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort , where LTC004 will operate. Your unwavering support is instrumental in transforming our mission into reality.

The significance of every piece of plastic collected—a collective stride toward a cleaner, healthier marine environment. Together, let’s persist in this journey, ensuring a sustainable future for our oceans.
