Conference by David Martin, President of the Oceans For All Foundation, at Sorbonne Paris North University

This year, the Oceans For All Foundation once again had the pleasure of engaging with students from the DEFIS Master’s program (Sustainable Development and International Sustainable Finance), led by Mr. Joël Oudinet at Sorbonne Paris North University.

Recognized by UNIVERSAL as one of the top programs in Responsible and Green Finance, this master’s degree is shaping a new generation of experts dedicated to advancing a more sustainable future.

David Martin’s conference highlighted the urgency of ocean conservation, focusing on critical issues such as plastic pollution, and the essential role of seagrass meadows and sharks in preserving marine ecosystem balance — a balance vital to the survival of our planet.

Beyond technical insights, the Foundation was inspired by the students’ curiosity, awareness, and commitment to environmental challenges. Their determination to integrate sustainability into their future careers offers real hope for a faster transition toward more planet-friendly models.

We extend our sincere thanks to the students for their thoughtful questions and openness, to Mr. Joël Oudinet for his warm welcome and renewed invitation, and to Sorbonne Paris North University for providing such a valuable platform for dialogue and knowledge-sharing.
