The Shark Nursery team at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort welcomed a total of 6 new baby bamboo sharks this week. This achievement is a result of the ongoing work of the resort’s marine conservation efforts and Oceans For All Foundation’s Shark Nursery project, which has 2 additional shark nurseries running in Phuket.
The eggs were carefully nurtured by in a controlled environment at the resort’s Bamboo Shark Nursery, where the baby bamboo sharks are are given a safe start before being released into the Andaman Sea. The Bamboo Shark Nursery also provides an educational experience for guests and visitors, as well as hosting periodic ReSharking events, where now-juvenile bamboo sharks are released into the ocean.
